I'm sure you've noticed second-hand clothes shops around your area selling apparel per piece or per kilogram, probably quite a few of those. Some of their assortment comes from regular customers, such as yourself, wanting to get rid of part of their wardrobe content. They will most usually buy any sort of textile that's undamaged and in a condition acceptable for their customers. And even though you're barely making any money (prices usually range between 30-60 pence per kilogram), this should not be considered as a business opportunity, but rather a way of cleaning up your house while still being paid for it. If it is a large quantity of clothing you are offering, they might even be able to collect it themselves or provide free transportation – all you need is ask at the counter.
Although this is by far the least possible or wanted solution for the majority of our readers, some people interested in fashion re-make their clothing, cut it, sew it together and create their own pieces of clothes suited especially for their needs. And despite the fact it usually quite obviously looks home-made, they look terrific. This generally does not apply to regular T-shirts or jeans, but older dresses you spend a little time on may still look good for evenings out.
